Do you sell prints or originals?

What we sell in the Online Store are prints (we don't want any confusion). These are professionally reproduced prints, made on 120 lb weight card stock (similar to greeting card paper). We use the heavy weight paper because it offers durability. You can spill coffee on it and wipe it away, although we DON'T recommend it! We use a professional print company in Knoxville, Tennessee that employs a 7-color digital laser printer that sears the image on to the paper (don't ask us how that is done, they have tried to explain it before and Serena says, "My eyes glazed over. I'm an artist, not a techie!").

What is the deal with the border around most your paintings?

The border that you see is kind of Serena's signature style. Others have begun to do that, but this is the real McCoy. Serena tells us "There is no way I could stay in the lines if my life depended on it!  I started using this border because I would create an image larger than then page and always run over.  Needless to say, this gave me fits when I did not have room to draw portions of the picture that I had in my mind but not on my paper. I won't even tell you how much the printers hate this!!!" Soooo, presto, the handy dandy border! If you want to frame the print with a 11" x 14" mat, it looks like a fabulous double mat or if you want a 5" x 7" picture, you can just trim away the extra and still keep the main picture intact!
